My updates are fewer lately, but at least they still happen..
For starters, we FINALLY took our kids to temple square. Hazel loved seeing the temple and the Jesus statue, whereas Milo loved playing with the drinking fountains and saying, "Wow!" at all the faux foliage. :)
We ended our great outing with some delicious Red Mango.
Then we were lucky enough to have our best cousins from Montana here for a visit. We enjoyed going to the splash pad, and to Boondocks for a day full of fun!
The only downside to this month, is that Johnny had to be away for a good chunk of it for work. It makes me especially happy to be living near family when he's away.
And for these kids of mine...oh how I love them!
Milo's vocabulary is growing a lot, and his latest OBSESSION is trains (choo-choos), specifically Thomas the Train. It's adorable.
(Here he is anxiously waiting for sis to get off the school bus).
Milo also loves animals; especially bears, owls and dogs. While observing this special bond he was making with my sister's dog, Hazel was hiding on top of the picnic table from fear of the cute puppy... (I let their true colors show in regards to loving animals, but all I'm going to say is, Hazel is a lot like me on this topic).
Milo also loves bathtime, playing with trains and cars, wearing his baseball hat, drinking smoothies, and screaming when we go to Target.
I love him.
Now for my firecracker Hazel. She has been loving Kindergarten, and is picking up on the Chinese language like it's no big deal. She rocks!
Her favorite things and highlights from this month are: Going to school, eating lunch at school, playing with her best friend Ella, being cavity free, playing baseball with her cousins, shopping with mom, picking blackberries with daddy, and going on a daddy/daughter neighborhood date.
In other news, our guest room is officially up and running, and we love having visitors!
We also finally completed our Instagram collage wall of some of our favorite traveling moments. It makes me so happy when I walk past here.
And I started up an Instagram for my food blog (www.healthytastyandsimpleeating.blogspot.com). So if you are on Instagram and would like healthy, tasty & simple recipes and healthy tips, pop on over and follow me @healthytastyandsimpleeating. :)
And here's my kitchen that I create all my healthy recipes, (and pinch myself that it's mine). It's going to be really hard to move from this place...
Finally, we had a family reunion up Santaquin canyon at Camp Kaholowo. I haven't been up there for years, and so it was a lot of fun!
Sadly only about 1/8th of the Lafferty clan could even make it, but it was still a good time. Also it was Hazel's first time camping (Milo's too, but he and I slept at Grandma's house instead..)
Hazel's favorite moment was trying her very first s'more! She couldn't believe that tasty concoction.
You don't camp with your Yamaha?
And grandma's sugar cookies. Mmmmmm.
And Mmmmmm.
And here's my beautiful 96 year old grandma! So so happy I got to see her.
Milo loved riding in the (choo-choo) wagon, and sliding down rock mounds.
Sisters.
What a wonderful time, and a wonderful month!
I cannot believe we moved from England 1 year ago, and that fall is just around the corner!
Until next update.
