Day Six; Part One (Wales & England)

Today we got to see more of gorgeous Wales.  Our first stop was to Margam Castle, which is actually a Victorian era country house, built between 1803-1890.  It was also on the tv program 'Most Haunted' in 2006!  (And a television show was actually filming while we were there too).

Other stops were 11th century Cardiff Castle, Tintern Abbey (built in 1131), and just across the border in England, we went to the oldest LDS church in the world!  That's right, Gadfield Elm Chapel was built in 1836.  In 1840, apostle Wilford Woodruff served his mission there, and preached among the United Brethren.  All but one of the 600 members of the United Brethren were converted to Mormonism.  After the conversions, the structure was given to the LDS church by Knighton and John Benbow.  And, the Benbow pond at Hill Farm was where the baptisms took place.

So cool to see this!

The party is almost over...
