The Lake District / The Marathon

Our main reason for venturing to the stunning Lake District this past weekend was to support our friends in a marathon (26.2 miles!).  Running has never been my thing, and so to witness these superstars running for hours, non-stop, was completely shocking and completely incredible to me.

While they were dripping sweat, we enjoyed some activities that were set up for those waiting, followed by more scenics drives, and of course eating.

Congrats to Stacey and Amy for accomplishing such a big goal, and for making phenomenal time too.

I love you Lake District.  Can't wait for another visit.  Who's with me?

(Oh and I can't hardly wait, 'cause our next adventure will be at the happiest place on earth!)

The Lake District (Day Two)

This day we enjoyed driving all over the Lake District and soaking in the beauty.  I'm in love with green fields, sheep and moss, and so it was a truly magical experience for me.

Other highlights were visiting Castlerigg Stone Circle (which is a basically a mini Stonehenge), and hiking to Aira Force Waterfall.

Such a good day.

Still a little more to come...

Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm

This weekend we decided to drive to the beautiful Lake District, with our good friend Stephanie.  Our first stop was to see Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm.  What an incredible opportunity this was to see.  It was completely beautiful and magical (although it was tough to get photos due to the pouring rain).

You should go watch the movie "Miss Potter" to get a better idea of this place.

More of the Lake District to come...
