Bury St. Edmunds / Peacock's Tea Room

Last week we strolled through Bury St. Edmunds, visited the market, the beautiful Abbey Gardens, and ended our outing with some fish-n-chips.  It was a fantastic day!

The following day we went to Ely to one of my favorite tea rooms, Peacocks, where we stuffed our faces with delicious British goods and peppermint tea.

(And I'm not doing superb with capturing all our glorious moments.  I guess we're just having too much fun, and that's alright with me.)

Stay tuned for more fun!

Bury St. Edmunds

It's been especially nice having Johnny home from work while his mom is here visiting.  He luckily only had to leave us on Tuesday, and so Gayle and I did some grocery shopping, followed by a visit to Bury St. Edmunds.

Hazel has really been loving getting spoiled by grandma.  Her icecream cone was a super big hit!

And that's the wink of approval.

Our afternoon stroll according to Johnny's iphone

The sun was shining and begging for us to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather today.  We walked around the Abby garden's in Bury and enjoyed all the spring flowers.  This is what I love about England.

Do you spot the crack?

Outings like this help me forget being homesick.  And don't you just want to squish Hazel in that last pic?!

A day in Bury

It was a cold and rainy day today, but we still had a great time in Bury St. Edmunds for a second time (Bury for short, pronounced like berry).  We enjoyed paninis, shopping, gardens, and a quick chat with the missionaries.  I learned today that Hazel and I need more rainy/winter clothes.  We're just not that prepared coming from Texas.
