Introducing...

I cannot believe that our precious boy is finally here!  He entered this world like a champion, at 11:40 pm on April 16th, and we couldn't be more happy.

I learned a lot from Hazel's ever-so-difficult and long labor and delivery, and so I was determined this time around to get the natural birth I desired so much to have.  I'll spare the details here, but I will say that I did have the most beautiful natural delivery, with just a 9 hour labor (76 hours shorter than Hazels!).  I'm over the moon with how things went, and most importantly that our sweet Milo Jude came out absolutely perfect!

Hazel has been pretty funny since the new arrival.  She was very happy to meet her baby brother, but her true excitement was shown when she was given the Frozen dvd and a My Little Pony.  There will certainly be an adjustment period for her (and for all of us), but over all, our little family is doing pretty well!

I'll work on getting more photos out, but in the mean time, these should do. :)

Waiting for baby...

We've been sick around here; sore throats and lots of coughing.  (And coughing with a massive belly is not my favorite thing; but I suppose I'm grateful, because it could be worse).

Anyhow, my due date is on Tuesday (the 15th), and I'm oh-so anxious to get the show on the road.  I'm trying to be patient, positive and relaxed, and just let this baby boy decide when to make his grand entrance, so hopefully all will go according to our plans.

This afternoon we decided to take a family drive in Johnny's Mini Cooper to see all of the beautiful rapeseed fields.  Our vehicle of choice was in hopes of bouncing this baby into action.  That was one bumpy ride!

(I also love that Hazel thinks daddy's car goes so fast.  But she did ask daddy today why his car is so small and doesn't play songs.) :)

And now for my final baby bump pic, featuring the beautiful yellow fields...

Any guesses as to what day I'll have this babe?

27 weeks and growing!

Pregnancy Stats (for the sake of remembering, because one day I might care to look back):

  • I cannot believe I'm one week away from being in my last trimester.  Yikes!
  • I'm having a boy, and still cannot wrap my head around it.  Any boy advice out there?  I only know how to play barbies and dress-up, not super heros and bad guys, or whatever it is boys like to do.
  • I feel WAY bigger than I did at this point with Hazel (well, I am bigger, so I guess that'd explain it). (But with that said, doc says baby and I are measuring perfectly).
  • Singing is very difficult.  Very.
  • I officially have a slight pregnant waddle this time around, but I like to call it the 'pregnant swag'.
  • I have left-sided hip pain like no one's business when I walk (that probably explains my 'swag').  Makes me miss my dad even more than I already do.  (He's a chiropractor with some serious skills in case you were wondering).
  • Baby wiggles all of the time, which is always exciting to feel.  (But I really hope this isn't a sign of what's to come).
  • Thank goodness my morning sickness dissolved around the 20 week mark.  Nothing is worse than constant nausea and puking...nothing.
  • I can tell I have a little Johnny in me, because he seems to desire foods like his daddy.  I only give in occasionally. :)
  • Hazel cannot wait to be a big sister.  She often says, "I just want baby to come out."  Or she'll simply tell me that baby brother is going to come out in 5 hours. :)  She even stated at dinner yesterday that she was going to teach brother how to eat broccoli.  That's my girl!
  • I'm feeling excited, and optimistic about my delivery this time around.  No 85 hour labor business.  Lets shoot for less than 50 hours at least...
  • So...this means we have roughly 13 weeks left (give or take) until we meet our little man!  I can do this.
