A very rainy London day

We decided to spend a day in London since Hazel hasn't been back since we first moved here.  We unfortunately had a few set backs.

Our usual 40 minute drive to Epping Train Station turned into a three hour traffic jam.

I finally had a proper camera and not the phone camera, and so I anticipated taking many artistic photos.  I instead spent 95 percent of the time protecting my camera from the torrential downpour.

The artist at Greenwich Market, who is always there on Saturdays didn't turn up.  Johnny was needing a particular piece for work, and thus was our main motivation for our outing.

Hazel was a complete nightmare; throwing herself on the ground and screaming nonstop.  Her favorite phrase/action of the day was pushing me and saying, "No mommy!"

On the upside, we went to London.  We got to walk in the rain, in London.  We ate at the delicious Gourmet Burger, where Hazel couldn't believe french fries were on her plate.

And here's my rainy/train view of Olympic park.

I think we had fun, despite our few holdups.  Just wish we could've spent a little more time in the city, instead of the car, and with less toddler trouble.

Friday Family day

Johnny had the day off on Friday, and so we were able to conquer some dreaded chores.  Afterwards, we headed to Cambridge for some shopping and eating (a.k.a. my favorite activities).

We're always pleased to find good quality/allergen-free restaurants; which caters to Hazel's intolerances.  Too bad picky Hazel refused her meal, and had massive meltdowns every 2 minutes.

Nonetheless, I was just happy to have some family time.

Somerleyton; a beautiful place

Rachel and Gavin invited Hazel and me to see the lovely Somerleyton Estate, situated in the cute village of Somerleyton; (which has some of the cutest thatched roof houses that I've ever seen).

We were able to tour through the estate, and wander through the beautiful gardens.  I was amazed to find out that a family still lives there.  I can't even imagine living in such a place.

Hazel especially enjoyed having a little buddy to run around with.

What a nice outing.

A day at the beach

We're lucky to live in a place that has a ton of beaches (not your typical california type, but we don't mind).  And unfortunately most days in England are cold and rainy, therefore we can't fully enjoy them.

Saturday we had extra high temperatures, so we packed the cooler, gathered a few friends, and enjoyed a day in the sun.

Hazel thought this new venue was the best ever.  She could've splashed for many more hours, and so she was pretty ticked when it was time to leave.

Thanks Jeane and Rachel for making our day that much more fun!
