Christkindlmarkt in Utah?

We are so beyond happy that we are able to spend Christmas with our family this year (it's been 5 years since we have!), but we'd be lying if we didn't say we're a little sad that we won't be going to any German or other European Christmas markets this year..

We were thrilled though when my father-in-law informed us that Salt Lake City was having their very own Christkindlmarkt!!  So after we got done visiting the North Pole (see post below), we scurried on over to our very own Utah rendition of a German christmas market!

Although it wasn't the real deal, it still had yummy food, great ambiance, and was a ton of fun!

(Lets make this a tradition Papa Fos, what do ya say?)

The Polar Express

I've always wanted to go on the Polar Express that the Heber Valley Railroad puts on each year, and luckily this year we were finally able to make it happen!  Hazel also watched the Polar Express movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and wished so much that she could ride it.  Boy was she excited when we told her the good news.

It was also extra fun going with a bundle of the Foster cousins on this magical trek to the North Pole!

Such a fun and magical day!

(And part two of our fun day coming next!)

8 months old

It really is mind blowing that it's time to do another monthly update on our cute little stinker..

- He's pretty mobile now, but thankfully no crawling yet (not ready for that).

- He used to love getting his clothes changed, but now he gets so mad about it.

- He now also screams during bath time unless his sister gets in with him.

- He got his first tooth!  He also loves the feel of it, and is constantly wiggling his tongue around.

- Every time I put a new diaper on him, he takes it off...

- He also peed on mommy for the FIRST time just yesterday.

- He discovered how to cry at an ear-piercing level, and likes to practice during the night time hours.  That's fun.

- He's napping better 'most' days (knock-on-wood), but sadly we're still having way too many night time parties..

- He just started eating a few solids.  Avocados are his top pick right now.

- He's a great shopping buddy, as long as I acknowledge him with big smiles frequently.

- He loves playing 'peek-a-boo', listening to music, and jumping in his bouncer.

Once he masters sleeping, I really must admit...I have the most perfect baby!

Hazel would agree. :)

Thanksgiving

It's been many years since we've been with family for the holidays, and so it was especially nice to be apart of the festivities this year.  We had Thanksgiving with the Foster clan, and it was so much fun.  Of course Papa Fos whipped up the majority of the feast, and it was delicious!  (But I have to give a shout out to my brother-in-law for masterfully preparing the turkey.  He was up at the crack of dawn smoking that scrumptious bird).

I'm so grateful that I married into such an awesome family!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I know I sure did.
