Happy Birthday Milo!

I can't believe our precious British baby is already 2 years old!  He is such a delight, and I honestly don't know how I got so lucky to be his mommy.

- He's a busy boy, but is luckily not a climber or a jumper.  He loves to run and be outside though as much as possible.

- He likes to play tag, but once he's discouraged about his lack of speed, "Mommy, hold you," is what he likes to say.

- He has incredibly clear pronunciation with his words, but he still doesn't put too many words together at once.

- He's obsessed with books, and demands at least 2 stories before nap and bedtime.

- He can recognize all of the letters in the alphabet.

- He can count to 13 all by himself, and recognizes a handful of his numbers too.

- He knows most of his colors, and I think yellow is his favorite.

- Trains are his absolute most favorite thing in the world.  He usually has Thomas in his hand, and is always laying on the ground playing on his track, and discovering creative tunnels.  "Choo-Choo-Chugga," is the phrase that I hear most from him. :)

- He loves to say prayers, (with a little help from mom), and is usually so reverent.

- Along with trains, he loves cars, trucks, buses, and boats.  Every time he hear's a car, dishwasher, or sound of any kind, he gets super shocked and excited and says, "Train!"

- Balls are his next favorite thing to play with.  He likes playing catch and basketball.

- He always lets me know if he's cold, hot, has an owie, or is tired.

- He also always tells me if he's happy or sad.  Luckily he's usually happy.

- He's a nighttime sleeping champion.  If he isn't quite tired yet, or wakes up a little before mommy, he's content to just play with his favorite blue blanket, binkie and doggie.

- He loves dogs.

- He doesn't like to eat vegetables, and so I have to be extra sneaky, and give him lots of green smoothies, pureed soups, and muffins.

- He loves bananas, strawberries, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, pancakes, cashew bars, etc.  Ya know, the sweeter things...

- He's always asking for a snack.

- He doesn't like to get dirty...

- He sadly chipped his front tooth a couple months ago, and has had a handful of other mouth injuries since.  I'm just praying that he'll be able to hold onto his cute little teeth...

- When he smiles, his eyes arch like rainbows, and his beautiful blue eyes sparkle.

- His first 10 minutes of Nursery on Sunday is tragic, but then he always ends up having fun.

- He tells Knock Knock jokes all day long.

- His favorite cartoons are Thomas The Train, Chuggington, Color Crew, Curious George, Peppa Pig and Pocoyo.

- His favorite game is Hide-and-Seek.  He especially likes to count and be the seeker.

- He likes to hit me, just so he can say sorry and give me a kiss.  He does the same thing to his toys.

- His big sister is his favorite, and he always has to watch for the school bus each day.

- I'd like to say that he's a mommy's boy, but he sure thinks his daddy is the best.

We love every little thing about you!  Happy birthday precious boy!

xoxo

Lets make your 2's not so terrible though, m'kay? ;)

Easter

We had our first annual neighborhood Easter-Egg Hunt this year.  It was Milo's first hunt, and he went nuts over the excitement.  He didn't care about what was inside the eggs, but just getting as many eggs in his basket as he possibly could.

Later that day, I took Hazel and her cute cousins to get a manicure.  Other than sitting in a stinky salon, it was lots of fun.

Now time to decorate some Easter Eggs.  Target had the cutest kits imaginable, and it made it extra fun to decorate this year.  Yet another reason to love Target.

Then we woke up to discover that the Easter Bunny came to our house and left clothes, books, the softest bunny and deer ever, and some yummy treats for the kids.

And my favorite part was eating an adorably delicious meal at my parents' house.

And one more hunt with this good looking bunch.

It's easy to get caught up in the fun festivities of Easter, so we made sure to continually pause and remind Hazel what Easter is really about.

On that note, I had the privilege of collaborating with two friends and making a sacred Easter video.

St. Patrick's Day

Hazel was really hoping that a leprechaun would bring her some gold coins this year.  Her wish came true, and then some!  The leprechaun made her giggle so much, because he not only came through her window and left coins, but he even left footprints on the toilet!

I also made lots of (naturally) green foods to celebrate, and then later we devoured a divine Irish feast at my parents' house.  I can tell I'm Irish, because this holiday makes me so happy.

Valentine's Day

Hazel was so excited for Valentines this year, because it was her first time bringing Valentine's to school.  I tried my hardest to make it a special day for her, and I'm pretty sure I succeeded. :)

Johnny and I were also able to skip away and have a wonderful dinner at the Bombay House, then a strawberry dipping feast with the littles.  Milo's mind was blown.

Lately

I've been a bit behind on my blogging, but I'm determined to catch up!

For starters, I can't believe we have lived in our house for over 1 year!  I love our house, neighborhood and ward so much, it's going to pain me to leave.

Our little munchkins delight us (most days).  I told Hazel that I'm not going to let her turn another year older.  I honestly can't handle them growing up!!

Our first visit to the Children's Discovery Museum at the Gateway was a huge success!

We kicked off 2016 by getting Milo his first official haircut.  Pure tragedy.  I felt so bad, but couldn't help smile the whole time.  That hairdresser worked some serious magic though, and got rid of his fluffy mullet in a matter of seconds.

Milo's a ball of sunshine most often.  His words are exploding, and he still loves the typical boy things (minus getting dirty)...I'm trying to teach him that it's ok to get dirty.  (He just has me for a mom, so it's inevitable...)

Love him.

Hazel has lost her two bottom front teeth.  The first one was scary for her, but the second happened during Primary.  She pulled it out, and looked at me so happy and surprised.

Hazel's a delight, and is such a kind little doll.  She's always a big helper, and thinks of others.  She's excelling in her Chinese Immersion Kindergarten, and just told me that she has a Chinese brain now, not an English one.  I just wish she wouldn't get so nervous to practice her Chinese in front of others..

She started up a gymnastics class at Little Flippers, and she's really loving it.  She's a cautious one, but I think she'll do really well at it.

Hazel has been enjoying school, playing with friends, daddy/daughter dates, mommy/daughter dates, Chinese New Year celebrations, birthday parties and more.

I love her.

Until next update. :)
