Our beautiful, hilarious, sweet, and full-of life girl is 5 years old!!
- She's patient and kind.
- She loves butterflies and kitties.
- She has been a huge helper to her momma for the past year with her new brother, and will always watch him when needed.
- She loves watching shows; specifically My Little Pony, Peg + Cat, Scooby Doo, Inspector Gadget, and Word Girl.
- She's also obsessed with Frozen, Home and Cinderella.
- She loves trying to learn new languages (and making up languages), and is so excited to start Chinese Immersion Kindergarten in July.
- Potty words will always make her giggle.
- She mostly hates dogs, because they scare her.
- She loves chocolate, even the darkest kind.
- She's an excellent singer (yay), and can also play a song and some snippets on the piano.
- She'll eat almost anything except for tomatoes.
- Her current favorite foods are salmon, watermelon, baby carrots, strawberries, butternut squash soup, swiss chard, cold cereal and pancakes.
- She hates to sweat.
- She has an imaginary friend named Strawberry Cons. This hilariously-named imaginary friend comes most places with us, gets to wear a seatbelt, and sleep in Hazel's room with her. Sometimes we forget her, and leave her behind; but good thing she's a fast runner, because she usually can catch up. :)
- She misses her friends Myla, Ainsley, Lucia and Maxi from England, but her sadness is fading because of her new best friend and neighbor, Ella.
- She however refers to my older sister Rachelle as her very best friend. When I asked her what her favorite part about being 4-years-old was, she promptly replied, "Getting to see Rachelle." :)
- She is usually very confident, and comfortable in new environments.
- She LOVES her dance class, and is excited to be in her very first recital next month. Her teacher also made a point to tell me how impressed she was with Hazel, and how she learned the dance routine so fast.
- She thinks it is so awesome that she has two grandmas and two grandpas.
- She loves to draw and color, and has mastered staying within the lines.
- She can count to 100, do simple addition, and is starting to learn her geography.
- The last few months she has been earning coins for doing chores. She proudly brought her $8.50 worth of pennies, nickles and dimes to Toy-R-Us, and bought her very own toy.
- She always wants me sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow to her at bed time, and she tells me it's the only song that will make her go to sleep.
- She's such a good night-time sleeper.
She loves life, family, food and friends, and boy do we love her!
I cannot believe it was 5 years ago that she came into this world (and with a good fight too)! If I could freeze time, now would definitely be that time.
Happy birthday our wonderful Hazelnut. We love you to the moon and back!
