I have a husband again!

Johnny has been gone the past week working in the Azores.  I never heard of such a place, and so if you have, I give you ten gold stars.

The Azores is composed of nine volcanic islands in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. They speak portuguese there, and Johnny does not.

Here's Johnny's amazing rental bus.  It was also a stick shift in a very "hilly" country, and Johnny hasn't driven stick shift since High School.  Plus he was back on the right side of the road.
Lets just say he killed it a few times...

Nice view from the treadmill.

They had beautiful and colorful churches in every village.

This delicious chicken dish was even that much better because it was served in a clay tile.

It was such a beautiful and cultural place.

Here's an old military fort on Mount Brasil, which is also an old volcano.

One of the highlights of the trip was when Johnny got to witness the tradition of letting a bull run loose in the street.  In order to prove your masculinity, the men jump out and tease the poor bull, hoping to escape intact.

Quick pause to auction a goat, play the accordion, and then back to the bull chase.

What a great get-a-way it was for Johnny, and what an unfortunate week Hazel and I had without him.  Power outages, fires next door, spiders, sickness, and more.

So glad my lover boy's back.

Becky. I've been so behind on your blogging life. I love the pictures of your pretty food and pretty girl. Hilarious when I was imagining you taking pictures of your food-delivery man. And Johnny's trip looked amazing. I love those colorful churches. I wish you could've gone with him.
