Melford Hall (Saturday part one)

This beautiful home was devastated by fire in 1942, but was restored by the Hyde Parker family.  A relative and regular visitor to this house was the famous Beatrix Potter; author of The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck, and more.

It was especially neat to see the original Jemima Puddleduck from which the story was created.  Now hopefully I'll be able to visit her actual house sometime when I'm ready for a five hour drive.
