We drove for about 45 minutes today and went to the village of Lavenham. In the medieval period it was among the 20 wealthiest settlements in England. Now it is most famous for it's 15th century church, and crooked houses! I was absolutely smitten with this place.

What an amazing day. I had to post a gazillion pictures because it has been my favorite place so far in England. And now I'd like to close with an ever so appropriate nursery rhyme:
"There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
and they all lived together in a little crooked house."
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
and they all lived together in a little crooked house."

Hilarious, the "Crooked Man" poem was running through my head...then there it was posted at the bottom:) I'm starting to get a little bored with where I'm living after seeing all those pics! LOVE the fushias!
We went house shopping yesterday and got out for the first time. I can't believe how cute the houses are and the little villages! Isn't wonderful?!? Can't wait to visit you guys sometime.
I will probably have the same comment for every entry you post for the next three years: jealous.
So fun! But, why are the houses crooked? I'm a little confused. I'm also jealous of Johnny in the pic where he is smooching Hazel.
